Fiorentina's aggregate victory against Cremonese in the Coppa Italia sets up their summit matchup against Inter Milan

This season, Fiorentina is competing for both local and European championships.

To go to the Italian Cup final against Inter Milan and to play Basel in the semifinals of the Europa Conference League, the Tuscan team defeated Cremonese on Thursday.

After winning the first leg 2-0, Fiorentina was able to proceed with a 0-0 draw.

Wednesday's other semifinal saw Inter defeat Juventus, the defending champion.

Despite having far more opportunities than Cremonese, Fiorentina never truly came close to scoring.

The seventh Italian Cup victory for Fiorentina would tie them with Lazio for fourth place all-time, behind Juventus (14), Roma (9) and Inter (8). In 2001, the Viola last won the Italian Cup.

To get to the last four, Cremonese had to defeat the Serie A leading Napoli and Roma in quick succession.

Fiorentina qualified for the enlarged Italian Super Cup, which will include the two champions and the top two teams in Serie A, next season by reaching the final.

Rome will host the final on May 24.
