The majority of people who celebrate Karwa Chauth, a holy Hindu holiday celebrated with great devotion and prayer, are married women. This auspicious day, which falls on November 1st this year, is especially important in North Indian states like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.

Though it has long been known that married ladies commemorate Karwa Chauth by praying for their spouses’ well-being, did you realize that single females may also observe it under somewhat different guidelines? Unmarried females get Karva Mata’s blessings if they keep the fast and follow the procedures.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-260313″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-molly-hurwitz-matthew-perrys-former-girlfriend-talks-about-his-death-download-2023.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com molly hurwitz matthew perrys former girlfriend talks about his death download 2023″ width=”1414″ height=”792″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-molly-hurwitz-matthew-perrys-former-girlfriend-talks-about-his-death-download-2023.jpg 300w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-molly-hurwitz-matthew-perrys-former-girlfriend-talks-about-his-death-download-2023-150×84.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1414px) 100vw, 1414px” title=”Is It Possible for Single Women to Observe Karwa Chauth 2023? 9″>

Pandit Bhalchand Khaddar, an astrologer, states that the Karwa Chauth fast is held annually on the Chaturthi day of Krishna Paksha in the Kartik month. Married women celebrate the Nirjala fast on this day in honor of their husbands’ long lives. The astrologer said that while single females are free to follow this fast, married ladies are encouraged to do so. Girls who are single might observe the Karwa Chauth fast for their fiancé, sweetheart, or someone they see as their lifelong companion. The astrologer recommended that single ladies do the following rituals:

On this day, single ladies should follow a fruit fast rather than a waterless fast. Unmarried women are not required to follow the Nirjala fast.
Worshiping Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha, Kartikeya, and the moon is a custom of the Karwa Chauth fast. On the other hand, during the Karwa Chauth fast, single ladies should merely listen to the story of Maa Karva and give prayers to Lord Shankar and Mother Parvati.
On the day of the fast, single females might break the fast by presenting Arghya to the stars. Unlike married women, they do not have to sacrifice Arghya to the moon in order to break their fast.
Unmarried females are not required to use a sieve during fasting. Without a sieve, they may break the fast and give Arghya while gazing at the sky.
