Lehmann says Warner, Head, Marsh, and Smith will score big in the World Cup final. Bring it home, please

After Australia defeats India in the World Cup final on Sunday, former Australia player Darren Lehmann is optimistic that the Pat Cummins-led squad will win a record-tying sixth World Cup.

In the second World Cup 2023 semi-final, the Australians defeated the South Africans to secure their spot in the championship game.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-282666″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-sales-of-alcohol-increased-by-15-in-mp-before-to-the-assembly-elections-steve-smit-750×422.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com sales of alcohol increased by 15 in mp before to the assembly elections steve smit” width=”1479″ height=”832″ title=”Lehmann says Warner, Head, Marsh, and Smith will score big in the World Cup final.
After winning, Australian cricketer-turned-coach Lehmann said on X (formerly Twitter) that the top two teams advanced to the championship match of the major competition.

“Good luck to all @ICC,” he said in his message, wishing his country well. “Two best teams in the final.” Go Aussies! The men’s WC is ranked #6. Please bring it home. Top 4 to lead Australia to major victories.

The cricket player’s optimistic outlook for his team’s triumph astounded the majority of the spectators.

“Darren, if Australia has any chance in the finals, it has to be the Bowlers,” one of them said. And since Jadeja and Kuldeep will pose a serious threat to them, the top four must target the Indian speed trio. The key will be Travis Head.

Someone else’s response encouraged others to think that the sixth was really returning home. He wrote, “Believe they will, 6th Cup coming.”

Everyone was reminded by a fan that India had advanced much since 2003. “It’s not the same Indian side as in 2003; we’re going to win it one-sided, and Australia isn’t strong like in 2015; they’re just playing to spin,” the writer said.

“#6 not happening this time,” a supporter said in response to his assertion. It is Indian territory.

Australia got off to a rough start in India, losing their first game against the Indians before falling to South Africa for the second time in a row.

But the Australians did not let their supporters down, winning seven consecutive group-stage matches as they mounted a strong comeback.

They qualified for the semi-finals as a result, and they were able to continue their winning streak by defeating South Africa there.

Their only opponent at this point is a formidable Indian team that seems to be more determined than ever to win a third championship. It will be fascinating to see whether Australia manages to accomplish the seemingly unachievable feat of defeating the highly skilled hosts and winning a sixth World Cup.

In the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s, Lehmann was a formidable force, particularly on the home front. In First-Class cricket, the batsman scored over 25,000 runs, and in List A, over 13,000 runs. He scored 4876 runs in 27 Test matches and 117 ODIs for Australia.

The batsman made it very clear in his article that he anticipates the current Australian top batting order to “score big runs” in a similar manner.
